Rev. Aramis Acevedo
April 08, 1955 - December 23, 2011
Will be dearly missed Aramis Acevedo was born on April 8,1955, in Isabela, Puerto Rico. He was one of thirteen children born to Otilio Acevedo and Aidalina Perez.
Aramis was born and raised in a Christian household. At an early age Aramis moved to Boston, Massachusetts, where he began his life long journey in ministry. He was called to Pastor the Defenders of the Christian Faith Movement Church in Southbridge, Massachusetts, at the age of 32. He pastored the congregation for over five years and during this time he was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel for the Defenders of the Christian Faith Movement. Later, Reverend Aramis Acevedo moved to Montgomery County, Maryland, where he continued his Pastorship with his brother, Reverend Eymeris Acevedo. Reverend Aramis served in ministry at the church, Canaan Christian Church, as his Associate Pastor for over sixteen years.
On January 7, 2007, Aramis, along with his wife Milca Acevedo, were called to lead as Pastors in a new congregation in Maryland. Today the church is named New Life Christian Church and continues to be a flourishing church because of the heartfelt dedication of this man, who labored only to give God all the Glory and Honor that God so rightly deserves. His faithfulness was something to be admired. We pray that his serving spirit continue to live on as an inspiration to many who live to hear the story of his tremendous heart.
Reverend Aramis Acevedo made it through with the support and love of his wife Milca and his five children: Damaris, Aramis Junior, Obed (best known as Tito), Vanessa, and Olivia. Over the years, Reverend Aramis was blessed to enjoy the gift of life by experiencing it with his five grandchildren as well: Samantha, Landon, Elias Jose II (known as EJ), Emma, and Isabella.
Family and friends will always remember Reverend Aramis for his extraordinary love of cooking authentic Puerto Rican cuisines and his great sense of humor. He had a way of making your heart be filled with laughter. Among the things that Reverend Aramis enjoyed doing was traveling to be with his family, playing softball and pool.
Aramis Acevedo was a beloved and devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, Pastor, and friend….our hope in Christ leads us to trust in that one day we will be with him again…and that day cannot come soon enough!! People like Reverend Aramis Acevedo are gifts from heaven, unique and unforgettable.
